PLEX-08-0004-8801The TMF8801 is a time-of-flight (ToF) distance sensor that uses the time difference between light pulses to measure distance. It provides detection of a single area of an object, regardless of the color, reflectivity and texture of the object.
The TMF8801 offers high dynamic range and detection detection measurements at distances of 2-250 cm. The device can perform highly accurate distance measurements with an accuracy of ±5% and is capable of operating in dark environments and in the presence of sunlight.
A built-in histogram is provided to provide dynamic coverglass calibration and crosstalk compensation, and background light noise is minimized via on-chip sunlight rejection filters.
The TMF8801 outputs data via a fast-mode I2C communication interface and an integrated microcontroller, which is provided with all algorithms on-chip, without the need for external optics.
