While capable of multiple use-cases for timing-belt guidance, this Post shines most when mounted near the drive pulley to help prevent unwanted slack from causing the belt to slip off the teeth of the pulley. And though it's a fixed (static) mount, when it's properly placed, it can ensure that slack generated in the belt system remains isolated from the drive pulley—allowing the drive pulley to do its job successfully.
